Bear Mountain State Park

From New York City and Long Island

1) Take Grand Central Parkway (West) to Triboro Bridge (West) to FDR/Harlem River Drive (North) to George Washington Bridge towards New Jersey -OR-
2) Take West Side Highway, Route 9A (North) towards George Washington Bridge
3) Try to take the UPPER LEVEL of the GWB to Exit 74, it provides easier access to the Palisades Interstate Parkway (North). Click Here For Map 1
4) Stay on PIP till the highway ends (Hint: You will pass exit 19, staying in the the two left lanes)
5) You will hit a Round-About, Exit towards Haverstraw (9W South, Route 202 West)
6) Continue up the hill, bearing right of the Traffic Light.
7) Continue to the second parking lot (Parking Lot # 2), parking is $6.00 per car.

From Upstate / Albany

1) From Syracuse take I-90 (East) towards I-87 Governor Thomas/NY State Thruway (South). Click Here for Map
2) Exit I-87 NY State Thruway at Exit 16 towards US-6 / Bear Mountain. Click Here for Map
3) Find Parking Lot # 2 (Hint: Adjacent to Bear Mountain Inn)

From New Jersey (Via Garden State Parkway)

1) Take Garden State Parkway (North)
2) Exit 14-1 towards I-87, I-287 East towards New York (Do not stay on this road or you will wind up over the Tappan Zee Bridge and in NY, Pay Attention) Click Here for Map 2
3) Drive for about 2.7 miles on I-87 / I-287 to exit 13N for Palisades Interstate Parkway (North). Click Here for Map 3
4) Stay on PIP till the highway ends (Hint: You will pass exit 19, staying in the the two left lanes)
5) You will hit a Round-About, Exit towards Haverstraw (9W South, Route 202 West)
6) Continue up the hill, bearing right of the Traffic Light.
7) Continue to the second parking lot (Parking Lot # 2), parking is $6.00 per car.

From New Jersey (Via Palisades Interstate Parkway)

1) Enter Palisades Interstate Parkway (North) till the highway ends (Hint: You will pass exit 19, staying in the the two left lanes)
2) You will hit a Round-About, Exit towards Haverstraw (9W South, Route 202 West)
3) Continue up the hill, bearing right of the Traffic Light.
4) Continue to the second parking lot (Parking Lot # 2), parking is $6.00 per car.
